📎Director Talk with Stephanus Domanig after the movie // Moderate by:  Angelika König

Not only did 98-year-old Walter Arlen have an extraordinarily long life, it was also very eventful. He grew up son of a Jewish merchant in Vienna in the Ottakring neighborhood, and was forced to run away from nazi persecutions in 1938 to the United States. Once he arrived in Los Angeles he began to practice his profession as a music critic. He was also a composer. He had kept his work a secret hiding his writings in his desk. It was not until a few years ago, Howard’s lifelong companion published his compositions earning Walter late fame as a musician in exile in Austria.
