He plays a complete beat just with his feet and his long lasting bass drums produce a broad carpet of sound. With his hands he controls the tom-toms and cymbals.

The talk is of Terry Bozzio, one of the most sought drummers worldwide, for whom Frank Zappa wrote “The Black Page”. The most fascinating thing about Bozzio is the sound and the melody he produces by means of his drums. Indeed, he can play entire compositions on his tom-toms. And an interplay of flexibility and musical personality makes his music so unique: there’s no piece, no genre he wouldn’t excel in.

He mostly performs with an entire arsenal of cymbals, toms and pedals. He’s developed his personal technique and when he’s playing, he completely opens. Sometimes dramatic, sometimes gently, sometimes aggressive, sometimes smooth. Feelings, effort and passion are written all over his face. This is not a show but real, sounding emotions.
