An adaptation curated by William Kentridge of the famous opera by the German author, Georg Büchner. In the present version, Woyzeck is a worker who migrated to Johannesburg in 1956, an exterminated land of sterile industrialization. Production puts on stage puppets and animation to graphically illustrate Woyzeck’s mental tortures who is trying to give some meaning to his existence.
