The title of the seminar is hidden life: the alchemy of hidden objects, an investigation into the kinetic potential of neutral materials, as a means of exploring the fundamental principles of all forms of puppetry. Adapted for emerging and professional artists that wish to broaden their experience into the theory of puppet manipulation, the workshop consists of a number of sequential exercises of guided explorations with the aim to transform what is inanimate into an apparently animate object. Two puppeteers of Handspring Puppet Company, Jason Potgieter and Nkosinathi Gaar will lead you though the several stages.
