In times of ancient Romans and Greeks, the symposium was the traditional convivial right after banquet. It is known that these festivities were characterized by enjoyment of wine, joint singing and a broadly-varied entertainment programme. A revival of this tradition is offered once again by the Klangforum Wien for the Transart-audience: a Dionysian ecstasy in eight parts, from 5 p.m. till late night. A sensorial experience marked by pleasure where there is no separation between the abstract dimension of music and the earthly and bodily one of taste.
