New ways of understanding dialogues of visual and tonal language are proposed by Heinrich Unterhofer, Jayne Parker and Anton Lukoszevieze. What is especially interesting is the diversity of their starting points and destinations. While in Unterhofer’s video “Train” a pervasion and reciprocal increase of the two spheres is shown, Parker deals with the capture of physical and psychical dynamics in images. Four films have already been shot by Parker in collaboration with Lukoszevieze, making use of the sovereignty of the phenomenal cellist in aligning visual and phonetic structures. All the components that influence the musician and the performance are recorded – from the condition of the instrument to the concentration of the musician to the gestures and the resulting overall sound. Each performance is characterized by a specific and unique dramaturgy. The key object herein is Parker’s understanding of performance and its functionality, that underlies the sequences illuminating and capturing the musicians time and again. This is all about riches of art.
