Godard repeats itself and that's the way it should be, because Godard is Godard, a tautology  and a figure of speech. The way it repeats it self is always different and the same. He has always been more on the editing side, and is the protagonist for this role in his own cinema. He raises moral questions, which the director brings to the surface, linking the images of the Holocaust with those of contemporary horror, with history (indeed the stories) of cinema and the interference of events. He asks us many rhetorical questions through his cinema.

But this is just one of the many questions, thrown like stones into water by the profound and monochord voice of the author. We got everything wrong, he says, because we sanctified the texts- the Bible, the Koran, the Torah, the 10 commandments, when instead we need, and this he enforces through editing a “livre d’image” .
