Qui si incontrano mondi. Il Congresso Futurologico è un festival interdisciplinare di infotainment dove si incontrano scienza e arte, tecnologia e cultura, online e offline. Affrontare i problemi futuri richiede il contributo di tutte le discipline. Ciò si riflette perfettamente nella composizione del team organizzativo: da una parte il Center for Advanced Studies di Eurac Research, che fin dalla sua fondazione si è occupato di questioni legate al futuro oltrepassando i confini disciplinari, e dall’altra il festival di cultura contemporanea Transart. Affrontando il tema "Intelligenza artificiale e arte", filosofi, futurologi, artisti performativi e scienziati dei media, informatici, musicisti e autori si avventureranno in uno sguardo innovativo sul futuro creativo dei traguardi umani e sulle incredibili possibilità della digitalizzazione. Una fantastica serie di keynotes scientifiche, discussioni e performance artistiche - in parte aventi luogo fisicamente al NOI Techpark, in parte live-streamed.
L'intelligenza artificiale, la robotica e gli algoritmi accompagnano la vita quotidiana dell'essere umano come quasi nessun’altra invenzione del XXI secolo. Combattono le guerre, gestiscono flussi di denaro, fanno diagnosi, decidono la concessione di prestiti e danno forma alla mobilità. I software basati sull’intelligenza artificiale offuscano il confine tra uomo e macchina. Ma l'intelligenza artificiale può essere anche arte? Si tratta solo di uno strumento, come il pennello di un pittore, o può anche sviluppare le proprie idee estetiche? E quale altra differenza c'è tra l'uomo e la macchina - forse l'inevitabile caducità dell'uomo, rispetto alla possibilità dell'esistenza quasi immortale dell'intelligenza artificiale? Ne discutono, tra gli altri, il filosofo Julian Nida-Rümelin, il transumanista Zoltan Istvan, l'ingegnere di Google X Grace C. Young, i media artists Hexorcismos e Robin Meier, il musicista Peter Kirn e la curatrice artistica Natalia Fuchs.

“UNDER CONTROL I ctrl+c(ut)” Installation by ::vtol:: (RU)
The project is an abstract robotic model of a nematode worm, which the viewer needs to "cut" in a certain place with an RFID tag plastic card. Cutting a worm with a card, we are, as it were, conducting an experiment that is possible with some types of worms, in which cutting them, under the influence of regeneration, leads to the emergence of two independent individuals. When "cutting", a digitized DNA and a mathematical model of the worm's nervous system are recorded on the card using a special scanner/reader placed in the worm. Thus, the worm divides not only physically, but also digitally - another copy of its DNA appears, which increases the chances of preserving the species. Visitors leave the card with this data to themselves. On the one hand, this is an ironic installation on the topic of information copying, digital life, and bioinformatics. On the other hand, this is a kinetic project with a non-standard form of interactivity.
