"Voci vicine" is not a self-righteous opera, nor purely informative, nor political. It’s a contemporary work that engage at first and leave us with food for though then as we leave the hall. (Mauro Mariani, Giornale della Musica)
Unemployment, catastrophes, victims of poor policy and crime. “Voci Vicine” by Fabio Cifariello Ciardi draws a picture of the Italian present that critically questions the role of individuals, of media and of reporters. The setting is the everyday-life in Italy; the main actors are people with their worries and fears. Voices and music are interwoven into a dense sound; they create a choral dialogue, moderated by journalist Gas Lerner.
However, Voci Vicine is not a moralistic piece. It is all about contemporary music that thrills the audience and offers food for thought: in- and outside of the concert hall.
