Cockroaches are one of over 350,000 known insect species. Since the dawn of time, mankind has been as fascinated by them as they are disturbed. Resistant and cosmopolitan - they live almost everywhere except in the polar regions and high mountain areas - cockroaches are a fundamental part of the Earth's ecosystem because they feed, digest and transform organic material and return it to a new life cycle.
Scavengers is an immersive animation about the importance of insects for the survival of our planet.
Here the cockroaches - recreated by computer - fight to clean up the rubbish produced by human beings: they also digest polluting inorganic waste and transform it into nature. A task that would be up to humans, whether they are distracted or irresponsible.
Scavengers is also a reflection on the devastating environmental crisis caused by the human footprint. A wound that has already led to the extinction of many animal species, including insects, and is irreparably damaging the planet.
📎 The exhibition will be open until 22.09.
