> Quadrat:sch Extended feat. Zeena Parkins . Christof Dienz > Stubenmusik für Hackbrett, Zither, Harfe, Gitarre, Kontrabass und Perkussion (Parlour music for dulcimer, zither, harp, guitar, contrabass and percussion)
Tyrolean composer Christof Dienz lived and worked in Vienna for many years; he has never lost interest in his hometown. Known for his unusual sound design, Dienz has the musicians in this new work rub stones together, knock on wood, rake wood shavings, scratch on ice—all of the sounds are delicately interweaved with those of the acoustic instruments. Working American harpist Zeena Parkins assumes the role of soloist in an interface between rock, pop and avant-garde electronics. South Tyrolean artist Irene Hopfgartner and Ivo Forer utilise the entrance foyer of the Georg Mühlmann Carpentry Workshop with sculptures set in motion and a cello and percussion performance.
