A TALK WITH BLIXA BARGELD
“First and foremost, I live to connect things that have not been connected before,” says Blixa Bargeld about his creative concept from which a complex synthesis of the arts has long since sprung – something that goes way beyond music. In addition to his work with Einstürzenden Neubauten and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, he has experimented as a soloist with text, performance, film and theater work, and has taught lyrics. The pale and dandyish Bargeld, dressed in black without fail, perfectly embodies the gloomy genius. He is regarded as dictatorial, arrogant and capricious, is a wine connoisseur and gourmet, and has lived between San Francisco and Beijing for the last several years.
Blixa Bargeld talks with Martin Hanni, a cultural editor and former punk rock singer.
