A TALK WITH MOATAZ NASR

Egypt is currently experiencing unprecedented social and political changes. It is shifting between the past and a desire for a better future. Moataz Nasr observes the precarious situation in his native land and, through his work, conveys the feelings of his people, who move between human despair and suffering – but also between love and hope. The duality between activism and spirituality is also repeatedly reflected in his painting, expressed in his work through elements such as calligraphy, embroidery and Sufi poetry.
