Pierre Boulez, great prophet of our contemporary, pays homage to his predecessors with a concert. By drawing an ideal line from Schönberg, Webern, Berio, up to the same Boulez and Pintscher, the concert narrates with critical consciousness and analytical transparency, the history of music avant-garde in the latest one hundred years. Arnold Schönberg’s extreme atonality, aphorism’s poetics by Anton Webern, the adventurous electronic textures by Lucio Berio, and Pierre Boulez’s radicalism are the fundamental premises to understand modernity in order to lead us up to the contemporary dissonances by Matthias Pintscher.
