The works of choreographer Xavier Le Roy are characterized by conceptual rigor, discursive spirit of research and shrewd humour. In 2008, the French artist was a guest of Transart with “Self Unfinished” and “Le Sacre du Printemps”. In “Low Pieces”, the ensemble connects with the audience merging two different positions into a community. Soon afterwards, the dancers get rid of their clothes and of their social context and their bodies conflate into large images. Le Roy reflects the different possibilities of relationships and scrutinizes the expectations and the voyeurism of the audience. “Low Pieces” is a thrilling game with our perception; both sensual and intelligent.
