While the plague raged in 14th century Europe, the Italian writer Giovanni Boccaccio wrote one of the most important literary universal masterpieces: The Decamerone. In the novel, ten young people flee to the countryside to find refuge from the infection and thanks to the art of telling stories they are able to find entertainment and joy in the midst of the crisis. In Filomena - Boccaccio Reloaded eight South Tyrolean writers comment on the current situation, highlighting the imbalances and injustices that the crisis has exacerbated.
In collaboration with the Vereinigten Bühnen Bozen we will go out into the streets to share lockdown experiences and bring you directly home a theatrical performance with two actresses, two lifts and beats as delicate as they are overwhelming.
