CORPUS – interactive dance performance (50 min)
A Collaboration of Digital Artist Chris Ziegler (D/US) with Dancer Unita Gay Galiluyo (D) and Composer Hugo Paquete (P).
Ovid's ‘pygmalion’ redefined - a body in morphogenesis. A solo performance, where the dancer is using digital, visual, sensory sonic and also material interactions to create a corpus of images and generated sounds.
CORPUS is about the moving body as a visual and acoustic phenomenon. It reveals only the least necessary to create a visual and sonic poetry, which gives the viewer space for imagination.
The dance has three parts as a trilogy: The performance begins with an invisible body. Movement can only be recognized through an interactive light costume. In the second part the dancer is feeling and filling another’s body white glowing skin. In the third part of the trilogy the dancer’s own skin is his object of interest, moving inside a semitransparent cocoon. The cocoon tears apart and she finally performs a concert with acoustic traces of breathing and movements of a past dance, which CORPUS never fully reveals, creating an visual and acoustic imaginative space through movement
