The tenth Transart festival will kick off with a program featuring twelve percussionists making good use of the Ex-Alumix space under the musical and spatial guidance of South Tyrolean composer Hannes Kerschbaumer together with a wonderland of sound, light and dance created by Japanese artistic collective Dumb Type. The show begins against a backdrop of seemingly nostalgic scenery; the two dancers then create a kaleidoscope of extremes in which man is tripped up by realities controlled by unknown powers. These are haunting images that seek new possibilities for communication through art in the 21st century world: they are agonizing in their cruelty yet somehow poetic in their frailty.
