TRANSART is a new contemporary cultural festival taking place in the “BOLZANO SUD” area. An industrial concentration is the place of conceptualization, realization, energy. What matters is the ingenious capacity of facing challenges. That is why the said area becomes an ideal place for a radical contemporary art, aiming to be immediate and consciously experimental. The TRANSART moment, for the length of a week, will unfold starting from the DEPOSITO SAD to the STAHLBAU PICHLER machine shop, from the space appointed to the hiring of EDILMEC building machines, up to the BIC glassed yard. Shows will be watched not by sitting on red velvet armchairs as in a concert hall, but by unpretentiously making ourselves comfortable among industrial spaces. We won’t feel the usual cultural gratification given by the ivory towers – that is what our theatres have become by now – but we will be breathing the strong smell of steel or mechanical oil, the presence of hard manual work will be felt. To the bourgeois anxiety of stability, constricting culture within limited schemes, curiosity towards an enlarged artistic concept is imposed. Not only does TRANSART foresee the union of music-video-dance-performance, but also and above all the same audience, for whom culture and art are meant as a whole rising above all limits dictated by genres. Transart is an experiment – In form and in content.
