CONTEMPORARY ALTERATIONS

Event and culture or culture of the event? …in-between culture and events, TRANSART – this year as well – shows reality in its substance and invites you to enjoy the emotion of lending yourself to the game of experimentation! To Paul-André Fortier the duty of anticipating the festival: his dance that for thirty days will find its ideal seat in Bolzano in Municipio Square, will create the right suspence to lead us to the opening of the festival where the Haydn Orchestra and the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck will duel in the performance of the 6th Symphony by Hans Werner Henze. They will be followed by Iannis Xenakis space music interpreted by 6 percussionists from both North and South Tyrol.

Within the theme of percussions: from the so-called “baptism” of TRANSART in 2001, Terry Bozzio will be back this year as well in a solo performance with his usual amazing set!

An event you will not want to miss is A Clear View of Haeven, the vision of a paradise by revisiting the images of the Sistine Chapel of Michelangelo on the notes of Nicola Matteis, reviewed in a contemporary key by the wonderful voice of Ane Brun, the pop singer: a project that arrives in Bolzano in an Italian premiere directly after its debut at the prestigious Lucerne festival. Contaminations between the classical repertoire and the contemporary one also in the project of David Lunaire by Alter Ego Ensemble with the special participation of David Moss, vocalist and percussionist.

The expectations of those who are fond of electronic music will be satisfied from Mutek: for the first time Montreal festival opens a window onto Italy. The dance project by Dave St-Pierre “La pornographie des âmes” is set within the aim of getting in touch with Québec’s contemporary reality. The pornography of attitudes for souls undergoing the whims of will; it portrays on stage all what humanity is but does not want to show: dreariness, sufferance, disillusion, and solitude. From Québec again, the Quatuor Bozzini with their repertoire of contemporary classical music. The Québec focus was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Cultural Agency of Quebéc in Italy. Special guest of the final evening an Italian Dj: Claudio Coccoluto.

TRANSART07 is once again a bestiary of contemporary culture that contaminates the other genres.
